Koulibaly 4, Felix 6.5: Rating Chelsea players in Everton draw

It was a good performance but an awful result which makes it even more difficult to rate the players. On one hand, Chelsea finally clicked and showed very promising signs of 'Potterball'; on the other hand, their finishing and defending let them down again.

Chilwell: 8/10. Should have had an assist or two to his name today, his crossing was absolutely brilliant.

Enzo: 8. Just another day at the office for the World Cup winner — great work rate, tidy in tackle, excellent passing.

James: 7.5. Very energetic going forward but a bit rusty with his passes. Still a danger whenever he touched the ball. Won the penalty for the Blues.

Pulisic: 7.5. Some fans doubted the US international when the starting XI was announced. But he put in a magnificent display, taking part in literally every attacking move by the Blues. Scored a worldie but it was disallowed for offside.

Havertz: 6.5. Had two good headers he failed to score but was absolutely ice-cold to convert the penalty to score Chelsea's second. Could have been more involved going forward though.

Felix: 6.5. Twists and turns, flicks and backheels — we've got used to this stuff from Felix. What we haven't got used to yet is goals, with the Portuguese notoriously unlucky in front of goal. This time, he finally broke his Stamford Bridge duck, netting after a superb attack. Great pass to James to win the penalty.

A goal and an "assist" for the penalty — it looks like Felix was Chelsea's best player on the pitch, but things were much more complex. In the first half, the Portuguese missed wasted good chances, preferring to shoot instead of passing or through poor finishing. It's difficult to rate him after such a display — but, despite his goal, he's too responsible for the draw today.

Gallagher: 5. The introduction of Conor made Chelsea more defensive and negative. This is not on Conor though: questions need to be asked to Potter about what he was thinking, being 1-0 up at home and trying to defend the lead instead of going for more goals.

Koulibaly: 4. Another imperious performance by the Senegalese, who has finally turned into the player Chelsea bought from Napoli last summer. Superb tackling, even better long-range passing.

All these things held true for 89 minutes. But then he allowed Simms to get away from him so easily and the young Toffees striker equalised. The goal — and the draw — is on Koulibaly.

Kepa: 2. Very poor goalkeeping and positional awareness for both goals.

Others: Fofana, Badiashile, Kovacic 7; RLC, Chalobah, Chukwuemeka N/A

That coach is Priemiership bottom 10 material. How can he make so much defensive substitution against an attacking Everton side. spoilt my day.
