'He is fighting for the job': Fan explains why Potter would rather start Pulisic-Ziyech than Madueke-Mudryk

Following Noni Madueke's fabulous outing for England U21, many Chelsea fans ask Graham Potter to start the new signing more often in the coming weeks. Both Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are going to leave us in the summer, so why not bet on the new players instead?

One fan, nicknamed AndItsGone on Reddit, explains why it's not going to happen.

"Potter is fighting for his job. He will pick whatever team he thinks is best and it’s best to maintain a high-standard team but rewarding players based on what they do now versus what they have the potential to do.

"Both Mudryk and Madueke have shown a lot of talent but have also shown terrible team work and football IQ. They both have long contracts and futures here, but on form, they don't deserve to start, so Potter is rewarding form as all managers should."

I would also add that playing Pulisic and Ziyech more means having a good chance of adding a few millions to their price tag.

Noni Madueke has played just 6 minutes in Chelsea's last 4 Premier League matches. Mykhailo Mudryk has become more of a benchwarmer as well.
