10 players most likely to leave Chelsea in summer if Boehly is to trim the squad to less than 25 players

The Chelsea website currently lists 31 players as members of the first-team squad.

With the huge amount of money spent on numerous transfers over the last two windows, Graham Potter's squad has become bloated.

Chelsea already have Christopher Nkunku and Malo Gusto expected to arrive in the summer and the Blues are bound to make a few new signings.

We're taking a look at players that are most likely to leave if Todd Boehly wants to trim the squad to accommodate new players.

Mason Mount is the name that has stirred the most activity in terms of transfer rumours with his contract talks stalled at the club but we're not adding him to the list just yet.

Likely departures

Edouard Mendy: The Champions League winning keeper has lost his spot to Kepa over the course of this season and there are rumours suggesting he will likely be allowed to leave this summer.

Cesar Azpilicueta: The defender has become a Chelsea legend in the decade he has spent at the club, but reports suggest that, he too, will be allowed to leave.

Denis Zakaria: He was signed from Juventus on a loan deal but has failed to become a regular started under Potter. As per Fabrizio Romano, his loan move is unlikely to be made permanent.

Gabriel Slonina: The highly rated goalkeeper joined Chelsea after his loan at Chicago Fire ended this January. With Bettinelli signing a new deal at the club and the need to fulfil the homegrown player requirement in the squad, it would make sense to have Slonina gather some first-team experience on loan.

Mateo Kovacic: No Chelsea fan would like to see the Croatian leave but recent reports suggest a strong interest from Manchester City and hesitation on Kovacic's part to sign a new deal to 'keep his options open'.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek: The 27-year-old has been useful to a number of managers at Chelsea as a bench option. He has the versatility to be able to fill-in for other players in different positions but there are clubs interested in him and he doesn't rank as high as some of the other midfielders in terms of quality.

Hakim Ziyech: His move to PSG fell through this January and it is likely that he won't be around at Chelsea by the end of the summer.

Christian Pulisic: He's been riddled with injuries over the course of his Chelsea career and looks to be running out of time at the club, with the numerous options having been added on the wings. There have been links to AC Milan and there could be more in the summer.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Auba is almost certainly out of the Chelsea team, having been excluded form the UCL squad, he's already been celebrating Barca wins in their dressing room ahead of a potential move back to Spain.

David Datro-Fofana: The initial plan for Datro-Fofana was for him to be sent out on loan after he was signed in the last transfer window. With the injury to Broja and Aubameyang's lack of form, he was kept on as a striking option at the club but it is likely that he will be sent out on loan for some valuable first-team minutes.
