Potter: 'If you look at the xG of McGinn's goal, it's not that big of a chance'

"If you look at the xG of the [McGinn] goal, it's not that big a chance," Graham Potter told the media after the 2-0 loss to Aston Villa, per John Brewin.

John McGinn's lucky strike was a minor chance indeed. Understat give it an xG of just 0.03, which means the goal probability was 3 per cent. Mykhailo Mudryk and Mateo Kovacic were close to blocking it while Kepa Arrizabalaga was a bit unlucky not to get his fingers to the ball.

Based on the xG stats, Chelsea clearly deserved more. However, the Blues' conversion rate was unimpressive as it often happens this season.
