Players questioning running drills, being late for team bus after taking nap & more reasons Chelsea standards dropped

Matt Law, the go-to source for Chelsea news, has provided a pretty damning insight into the club's horrible season, which has left the standard's at Cobham at an all-time low.

Law reports that due to the size of the squad and the changes in managers, a number of players in the squad have slacked off and found it easier to not take ownership by disappearing in the crowd.

One player has been reported to question extra running drills that the squad was asked to undertake. Another player was late to the team bus after he went home to take a nap after training and was only met by a few smirks and shakes of the head by his teammates.

Frank Lampard is reported to have addressed the squad numerous times about the falling standards, even calling in individual players to his office to have a chat with them. Nothing changed.

More than half-a-dozen players have admitted their desire to leave the club and any attempt to motivate the squad by the senior players has been futile.

As Law puts it: "This is a cocktail that has been created at Chelsea by a mixture of confidence-sapping performances and defeats, a bloated squad, young and immature players with no big-club experience, wantaway stars and those knowing they could be part of a clear-out."
