'What an awful way to end your career': Chelsea fans feel for Eden Hazard as Real Madrid exit confirmed

Eden Hazard has officially left Real Madrid with a year left on his contract with an early retirement a possibility.

The Belgian winger left Chelsea for the La Liga giants in 2019 for a fee of around €115 million at the prime age of 28.

However, Hazard's spell at the Bernabeu turned into a joke due to injuries and fitness issues, and Chelsea fans feel for Eden.

SSPeteCarroll (via /r/ChelseaFC): "My favorite player. He made me realize that football could be beautiful. Really made me love the game."

MozartDroppinLoads: "I remember watching his last game in a Blues shirt, the Europa League final where we spanked Arsenal, he had a great game, went out like a champ. If you had told me then that his career was effectively over I would have have laughed in disbelief."

Iloveindianfood8: "I don't even care if he's washed. Bring him back for a proper Bridge send-off a la Drogba in 2015. Mudryk could also learn some finishing skills from him."

DampFree: "When you deep it, it's so fucking sad. He loved the club, probably wouldn't have left for any other team. That was his dream move. For it to have gone like this, money aside because he would've earned that money anyway, what an awful way to end your career."

TimothyN: "I just hope he's happy with whatever he does next, spent the better part of a decade carrying our offense before getting us a huge transfer fee."

dusty-potato-drought: "I'll always wonder how his time at Real would've turned out had he moved there in 2018 after the World Cup like he originally wanted. He was too good to us and stayed another year when we asked."
