'They couldn't dominate ten-man Burnley': Merson claims Chelsea vs Man United not a 'big game' anymore

Paul Merson has shared his thoughts on Chelsea's upcoming clash with Man United on Thursday evening.

The former Arsenal man believes that the fixture is no longer a 'big one' and Chelsea should get the win over United.

“It’s very difficult to predict this game," wrote Merson. "It’s not even a big game, is it? This used to be a mouthwatering fixture.

"Now, one of these teams got ripped to shreds by Brentford, and the other wasn’t able to dominate a ten-man Burnley side,” Merson told Sportskeeda.

“This is a manager’s game, if I’m being honest. Neither team would want to lose this football match. If Ten Hag loses this game and suffers another defeat against Liverpool next week, he’ll be under massive pressure.

“Chelsea have the home advantage, but they’re not really dominant. It’ll be a big worry if they don’t beat Man United, because Chelsea fans will remember what Brentford did to United. This won’t be an easy encounter, but Chelsea should be able to win this game.

“Merson's prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United.”

If only Pochettino is taking risk by using our younger talents on the bench we wouldn't have been complaining,he use Gilchrist before the world saw how strong he was, likewise other players that he's not using, David Washington keep wasting in bench when many a time Jackson isn't getting it right, can't he explore like other coaches?the team is rebuilding, why is he afraid playing these kids when the ones we trusted haven't done anything spectacular?

Bro the main problem of the team is too much of young talent. They only want to dribble when they are suppose to pass the ball, no fighting spirit. Bro we need at least four or five experienced players in the team

Well I don't blame you Merson, knowing how inconsistent Chelsea is right now. However the big games so far are the game Chelsea always turn up to prove to others, they are a big club too you can't push aside. So watch it Merson, Chelsea will surprise you again by proving you wrong.
