With Reece James and Malo Gusto injured, Enzo Maresca was asked if Chelsea academy product Josh Acheampong had a chance to play a role in the first team in the upcoming games.
"I really like Josh. For me, potentially he can be a top player, a top defender for the future," Maresca said.
"With young players, I have quite a bit of experience and I like to modify them a little bit. Today, with young players; they can change very quickly.
"They can think they are so good, or so bad, so I think you need to moderate the way they train."
Acheampong's talent is not a secret for several Premier League clubs eyeing a potential move for the player. Chelsea could benefit from more 'pure profit', but they have not sanctioned a deal for the 18-year-old who made his senior debut last season.
