Shakhtar Donetsk's General Director Serhiy Palkin has addressed Mykhailo Mudryk's decline in performances after moving to Chelsea.

"We sold Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea for 70 million euros plus 30 million bonuses.

"It was the largest agreement in the history of Ukraine."

When asked about Mudryk's lack of impact at Chelsea, Palkin said: "You don't need a Ferrari if you can't drive it.

"In this case, an ordinary car is quite enough. When you buy a Ferrari, you have to think about how you will handle it.

"This is my opinion about Mudryk at Chelsea."

He did back the Ukrainian forward to reach his potential though: "I am sure he will show his qualities if he gets a chance.

"He is an absolutely unique football player, as can be seen from his performances as part of the Ukrainian national team. There are very few such players."

Since joining Chelsea in January 2023, Mudryk only has five goals to his name in the Premier League.
