Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks was only booked for pulling Marc Cucurella's hair after a VAR check in the Premier League game against Chelsea.
After the incident, the Premier League Match centre account on X released a statement to reveal the league's official position on the incident.
Their tweet read: "VAR recommended an on-field review for a possible red card to Brooks for violent conduct.
"Upon review, the referee deemed that the challenge on Cucurella was a reckless action and not violent conduct – and issued a yellow card to Brooks."
In 2022, Cucurella's hair was infamously pulled by Tottenham defender Cristian Romero who was not punished in any way for it. Later, VAR Mike Dean admitted he got the episode wrong.
