Ex-Blaugrana Thiago Alcantara rules out the possibility of Barca return
La Masia graduate Thiago Alcantara left Barcelona in the summer of 2013 as he reunited with his former Blaugrana boss Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich. Since then, he has won five Bundesliga titles there. Meanwhile, Barca were heavily linked with a sensational return move for the midfielder during this summer. In any case, nothing has worked out.
And now the Spaniard confirms he isn't going to leave Bayern Munich - at least, not until they finally win the Champions League. The Bundesliga giants haven't triumphed in the major European clubs competition since 2013 even though they reached semi-finals almost on a regular occasion.
Goal quote Thiago as saying: "I've matured here, gained important experience and the opportunity to enjoy football more. Life is made up of stages and, of course, some more years can be added to this stage."
He continues: "We did not have luck on our side against Real and Atletico in recent years. But we keep going, we really want that title, even though we know how difficult it will be."
Thiago made a shocking revelation earlier this season as he explained the reasons behind his Barcelona departure in an interview to Cadena SER: "I have always wanted to play and since that wasn’t possible with Barca I had to leave to find the joy in playing football again. To me playing is more important than winning a trophy."

So far this season, Thiago has played 13 games for Bayern Munich, scored one goal and assisted on another one. He had to miss almost a month because of a torn ligament in his ankle which he sustained at the end of October.
