Iconic player Edgar Davids turns 47: you might have forgotten it but he played for Barca

We all remember Edgar Davids because of his iconic looks. The Dutch midfielder was a rare player who was wearing glasses on the football pitch.

Edgar celebrates his 47th birthday on March 13. You might have forgotten it but the Dutchman used to play for Barcelona during just a couple of months.

Juventus loaned him out to Barcelona in January 2004. The Catalans were in deep crisis back then but the iconic midfielder managed to reinvent the struggling side stuck in mid-table. Eventually, Barca would finish second, just five points behind winners Valencia.

As for Davids, he made 18 La Liga appearances for Barcelona and scored one goal.

Davids made his name while playing for Ajax and Juventus. In total, he has netted 48 times in 581 matches during his illustrious club career.
