- Pedja Mijatovic to Real Madrid (1996)
Before Figo, Los Blancos had signed Valencia great Pedja Mijatovic the same way they got the Portuguese. Lorenzo Sanz was the president of Madrid when the move happened and he was the one to pay the release clause on July 1, 1996.
The eternal hatred of Valencia's fans towards the Whites was born on that exact day. The worst of this story is that Pedja and Real Madrid spent all the previous season negotiating behind Los Che's back.
- Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona (2019)
Barca already made an attempt to get Antonie in 2018 but the Frenchman rejected Blaugrana's advances. However, in March 2019, when Atletico Madrid were still playing the Champions League, the 29-year-old began negotiating with us.
The Catalans got Griezmann by triggering his release clause in July 2019 and the fans at Wanda Metropolitana didn't take well the Frenchman's departure.
Barca had not been able to sign Marco Verratti at the beginning of that summer market. It seemed that Paris Saint-Germain had resisted the Catalans' attacks. What we never imagined was that the hunter was going to end up becoming the prey.
The Qatari owners offered Neymar tons of money and paid no less than €222m to get him out of Barcelona. Many Madrid fans bought the PSG jerseys that year. Both clubs today recognize each other as enemies on and off the pitch.

In 1997, Barca had a lot of money from the sale of Ronaldo. Deportivo La Coruna had declared Rivaldo non-transferable with strong interest from several clubs. The Catalans made the key move at the last moment of the market and left Depor so astonished that they could not find a replacement.
