Speaking to RAC1 about his plans for the summer transfer window if he becomes Barcelona president, Toni Freixa said: “We have been working for a long time and we have closed an agreement with an investor who will contribute 250 million to Barça Corporate, which are four lines of business in exchange for 49 percent of the business lines.
“And on the 21-22 (season) we will incorporate three stars, two in attack and one in defense.”
Further speaking on transfer plans, he said: “We have talked about them to be able to execute them, they would be for the 21-22 season.
“Barça will have the competitive team that it has to have and that now it does not have. Everything will be a consequence of work. It is impossible that (Ronald) Koeman does not like them, they are unique players.”
Barca Corporate a mixture of four business units that include the Barça Academy, the Barça Innovation Hub, Barça Licensing and Merchandising (BLM) and Barça Studios.
So it seems Freixa is planning on selling 49% (or nearly half) of those business lines to generate major funds to spend in the summer transfer window, but it also could be negotiating tool for him to win the upcoming elections in March.
