Laporta hints he'll look at young German managers: 'They combine science with imagination'

"Pep Guardiola is a phenomenon that we won't see again. I think it is unique and unrepeatable. But look where football is going now. Without giving up our principles, there are young managers in Germany who combine science with imagination. There are teams that are going very well," Joan Laporta has told La Vanguardia.

"Without saying names, youth managers have talent. They must be considered too because they could base on our philosophy," the presidential candidate added.

In February, it was reported that Joan Laporta would like to see RB Leipzig's Julian Nagelsmann as Ronald Koeman's replacement if the latter struggled to perform at Barca.

Nagelsmann has had impressive spells with Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, leading the teams to the Champions League group stage and the Champions League semifinals respectively. He has recorded 49 wins in 81 appearances as Leipzig's head coach since July 2019.

Apart from Nagelsmann, promising young managers like Oliver Glasner (Wolfsburg) and Marco Rose (Borussia M'Gladbach) could also be considered by Barca one day.
