3 best performers and 2 who could still improve: Rating Barca players in March

BEST

Leo Messi - 9.5/10

The Argentine has been on fire since the beginning of the year, and the past month is not an exception. Messi's only real kick in the teeth was the second leg of the PSG clash in which he failed to convert the penalty kick – it was much harder for Barca to come from behind after that.

  • 5 goals
  • 4 assists

Antoine Griezmann - 8.5/10

Antoine has had a good month. The Frenchman was back on the scoresheet on two occasions for Barca before also scoring twice for France.

The 30-year-old is clearly enjoying his best Barca days so far after Ronald Koeman's switch to three-at-the-back formations.

  • 4 goals
  • 2 assists

Jordi Alba - 8.5/10

It was really hard to pick the best player between him and Sergino Dest, yet we've made our choice.

Jordi Alba was impressive for both Barca and Spain, shining in three-at-the-back formations and performing his offensive duties perfectly.

Just take a look at his heatmap in the Kosovo game!

NEED TO IMPROVE

Francisco Trincao - 5/10

The Portuguese was unable to sharpen Barca's offensive play when needed and didn't really have a great month overall. The only silver lining is his Portugal U21 performance: 2 goals in 3 games over the past few days.

Ousmane Dembele - 4/10

Despite his 3 goals scored for club and country, we will remember Ousmane's March for plenty of missed chances, including those created against PSG in the second leg. The Frenchman should definitely improve his finishing to shine in big games too.

Guardiola: 'Maradona conquered Italy, Messi conquered Spain, Aguero did it in England'

"Diego Maradona conquered Italy, Messi did it in Spain, and Aguero has done it in England, his numbers speak for themselves. When you have that internal fire, play with that anger, his incredible talent comes out, he can win games on his own," Pep Guardiola has told ESPN Brazil.

Sergio Aguero is being heavily linked with the Barca arrival. The 32-year-old has spent 10 years in the Premier League, scoring 257 goals in 384 appearances for Manchester City.

The Argentine will be a free agent in July.
