'Erling Haaland will remain a Borussia Dortmund player next year': Dortmund CEO Watzke

“I’ve known Raiola for a long time and get along well with him,” Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has said in an interview with Sport1.

“It’s no problem for us. Erling Haaland will remain a Borussia Dortmund player next year.”

Watzke has spoken about Mino Raiola once again as Haaland's agent recently rated Barcelona's chances of signing the 20-year-old.

As per reports, the Catalans are ready to wait until the end of the 2021/22 season when Haaland's release clause will be set at €75m to land him.

Haaland will continue with us for the next season: Dortmund director Kehl

"I understand that Erling Haaland will play for Borussia Dortmund next season. Erling totally agrees. I see him every day and I can say that he completely identifies with the club," BVB director Sebastian Kehl has told Sport1.

Thanks to his impressive goalscoring record, Haaland has attracted the attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, Barcelona included.

Despite the widespread interest, Dortmund might be able to retain Erling by simply refusing to enter negotiations. The youngster's €75m release clause can be activated only after the 2021/22 season.
