Barca reportedly to let Pedri leave on early vacation with youngster exhausted by number of games

Barcelona reckon that Pedri is exhausted after playing a lot of high-intensity games this season and will let him leave on an early vacation, MARCA report.

The Catalans are set to play Eibar on Saturday in their last match of the season, but the 18-year-old isn't going to take part in the game, it's claimed. Instead, Pedri will reportedly fly home to the Canary Islands in the coming hours.

It's said that the 18-year-old will get to rest a few weeks before joining the Spanish national team ahead of the summer Euros.

The midfielder has been one of Ronald Koeman's most-used players, having played a total of 3,526 minutes across 52 matches for Barca this term. In fact, Pedri is the only Blaugrana to appear in all of the team's 37 league games so far. In total, the youngster recorded four goals and six assists this season, as per Transfermarkt.

Pedri becomes 2nd youngest player to reach 50 matches for Barca, beats Messi's record

The Atletico Madrid clash became Pedri's 50th match for Barcelona. Thus, the midfielder became the second-youngest player in Blaugrana's to reach this benchmark, overtaking Leo Messi.

Youngest players to reach 50 games for Barca:

1. Bojan Krkic — 18 years, 3 days

2. Pedri — 18 years, 5 months

3. Leo Messi — 19 years, 7 months

The impressive thing about Pedri's record is that he reached the milestone in just one season as he joined Barca last summer. Bojan set his record across two seasons, making 48 appearances in his debut term as a first-team player.

In his 50 games for Barca so far, Pedri recorded three goals and six assists, as per Transfermarkt. The Catalans have three more matches left this season, meaning that the 18-year-old can extend his record even further.
