With the top five European leagues coming to an end over the weekend, the CIES Football Observatory have named the team of the season for each championship based on data from OptaPro.
Barcelona trio Lionel Messi, Frenkie de Jong and Clement Lenglet have made the cut.
While it's arguably no surprise to see Leo and Frenkie in the 2020/21 La Liga best XI, Lenglet's inclusion is a rather questionable one given that no Atletico Madrid defenders have made the list.

Barcelona rely on Clement Lenglet for the 2021/22 season, according to Diario Sport.
However, if any club comes up with a tempting offer, the club could reconsider their stance, it is explained.
