Stat of the day: Messi has more goals than Ronaldo has goals+assists in last 5 league seasons

Lionel Messi has scored 162 goals for Barcelona in the last five La Liga seasons.

What makes this figure even more special is that Cristiano Ronaldo has registered fewer league goal involvements than his biggest rival over the same period of time - 159, as per @Barca19stats Twitter account.

Messi, for his part, has been involved in 235 La Liga goals - 162 strikes and 73 assists - since the start of the 2016/17 campaign.

As a reminder, Cristiano and Leo finished this season with 29 goals + 2 assists (33 appearances) and 30 goals + 11 assists (35 appearances) in their respective leagues.

Fan draws his desired Barca XI for next season – Cristiano Ronaldo is in

Most Barca fans want Joan Laporta to sign Erling Haaland, others ask for a quality centre-back like Matthijs de Ligt, the rest simply want Riqui Puig to start all the games.

But there are also some extraordinary opinions on what the next Barca XI should look like.

A fan nicknamed Puyi, for example, wants the Catalans to land Cristiano Ronaldo who might leave Juventus in the summer. Here's what his best eleven looks like.

Is it the Champions League-winning squad? Maybe, but we're not quite sure about the quality of this back line: Dest is not too good defensively, Garcia hasn't played much at Manchester City.

And please, don't let Ronaldo take those free kicks...

Unpopular opinion from Barca fan: 'We should sign Cristiano Ronaldo'

As Juventus are at risk of missing out on the Champions League qualification, some Barcelona fans suggest that the Catalans should consider signing Lionel Messi's iconic rival Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

"If Juventus do not qualify for UCL it's most likely Ronaldo would leave the club and on the other hand we are looking for a finisher and he is one of the best in the world when it comes to this, headers, goals from inside the box and even penalties," Reddit user @theguywithnofcks2giv wrote.

"Moreover, him going to Paris or Manchester will only make the UCL more difficult for us."

With two games to go this season, the Bianconeri are one point adrift of fourth-placed Napoli. Therefore, Ronaldo would arguably want to quit Juve if they continue in the Europa League next term.
