4 under-radar transfer stories Barca fans should know about

As Neto is expected to leave Camp Nou this summer, Barcelona are keeping close tabs on the Ajax goalkeeper (Mundo Deportivo).

The Cameroonian had spent five years at La Masia before joining the Eredivisie giants in 2015.

What's curious, Onana was banned from football for 12 months for doping violations in February. The punishment, however, is expected to be mitigated this month leaving the door open to the 25-year-old's return to Barca.

Onana is out of contract in 2022 and reportedly doesn't want to renew so Ajax are likely to offload him now not to lose him on a free transfer next year.

For now, Barca B's Inaki Pena is said to be the favourite to become Marc-Andre ter Stegen's backup in the 2021/22 season.

Barca have set their sights on the Ajax defender as they are looking for a left-footed centre-back with Samuel Umtiti no longer in Ronald Koeman's plans (Mundo Deportivo).

Junior Firpo is also set to be sold in the coming months so Martinez's ability to cover the left-back position would be a huge plus.

Lisandro is now valued at €23m by Transfermarkt which is nowhere near other reported centre-back targets of Barca - Matthijs de Ligt (€75m), Jules Kounde (€60m), Pau Torres (€50m).

Thus, the Argentina international looks to be the be most realistic option amid the Blaugrana's dire financial situation.

Another Ajax prospect is viewed by the Catalans as a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets (Mundo Deportivo).

The 19-year-old has made 61 appearances for the first team since making his senior debut in 2018.

The Dutchman is now valued at €33m by Transfermarkt and if Barca decide to part company with Miralem Pjanic this summer, they'll raise enough funds for one of the most promising holding midfielders in Europe.

OUTS

Gravenberch's move to Barca may also be forced by Moriba's exit from the club as the La Masia graduate's renewal "won't be easy" due to the 'high demands' of his new agency (RAC1).

As per reports in England, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all attentive to the 18-year-old's situation as his current deal expires at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

How Barca may line up with 3 new players in and 2 more expected to join: 2 options

Barcelona have confirmed the signings of Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia and Emerson Royal over the past three days.

Here's what the Catalans could look like in the 2021/22 season with all the newcomers.

Starting XI: Ter Stegen, Alba, Araujo, Garcia, Emerson, Busquets, De Jong, Pedri, Fati, Messi, Aguero.

The Blaugrana's transfer business, however, is far from over as they are also expected to sign Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay on free transfers from Liverpool and Lyon respectively in the coming weeks.

Now, let's take a look at Barca's potential line-up next term if they manage to land their remaining targets.

Starting XI: Ter Stegen, Alba, Araujo, Garcia, Emerson, De Jong, Wijnaldum, Pedri, Depay, Messi, Aguero.

Apparently, it'll be Ronald Koeman who lead the Catalans next season as some reputable source have recently suggested that the Dutchman is set to continue in the Camp Nou dugout beyond the summer.

Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia joined Barcelona on free transfers from Manchester City on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

The Catalans are understood to have made an offer to Depay to join them when his contract at Lyon expires later this month. The 27-year-old is yet to accept Barca's proposal.

"Barcelona? It's a fantastic club, but there are more beautiful clubs. Regardless of where I go, I would like Koeman to stay there," Memphis told NOS last week.

"As I said, I have nothing planned. Right now, I want to focus on the Dutch national team for 100%."

Apparently, Depay is holding out his decision until he knows for sure whether Ronald Koeman stays at the helm of the Blaugrana beyond the summer.

Probability rating: 8/10

According to reputable Fabrizio Romano, Wijnaldum has already reached an agreement to sign for Barcelona when his contract at Liverpool runs out on June 30.

As per reports, the 30-year-old's move to Camp Nou has been delayed by the Netherlands boss Frank de Boer who has forbidden Georginio to undergo his medical check-up at Barca until the end of this summer's European Championship so that the midfielder remained focused on the tournament.

Probability rating: 9/10

Barcelona are looking to sign another defender in addition to Garcia this summer with De Ligt as their priority target, according to Marca.

Juventus' asking price for the €75m-rated centre-back may prove to be unwieldy for the Blaugrana due to the club's dire financial situation.

Thus, the Catalans have identified Villarreal's Pau Torres as the plan B. The 24-year-old, however, is now valued at €50m by Transfermarkt, so it's very unlikely to see either of the pair in the Blaugrana shirt anytime soon.

Probability rating: 3/10

The Portuguese has been linked with a move to Barca in a swap deal involving Antoine Griezmann.

The 21-year-old, however, insists that he's 'happy' at newly-crowned La Liga champions Atletico Madrid where he has a contract until 2026.

Probability rating: 1/10

Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Jules Kounde's situation at Sevilla as the Frenchman opened the door to his exit from the Andalusian club last week, as per Mundo Deportivo.

The 22-year-old is now valued at €60m by Transfermarkt while his release clause stands at €75m so Barca will have to offer some of their players in return for the centre-back.

Probability rating: 4/10

Man City have put Raheem Sterling up on their for-sale list as they need to raise funds for Jack Grealish and Harry Kane, according to the Daily Mail.

The UK outlet mention Barcelona as 'long-term' admirers of Sterling but his €90m market value and the reliability of the Daily Mail make the Englishman's transfer to Camp Nou all but impossible.

Probability rating: 1/10

The goalkeeper will leave AC Milan on a free transfer this month with Barcelona among potential suitors for the 22-year-old, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also in the race to sign the Italian but it doesn't seem likely that he'd want to play second fiddle to Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Probability rating: 2/10

OUTS

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

The German has been linked with a switch to Borussia Dortmund amid Barca's rumoured interest in Donnarumma.

Fabrizio Romano, on the other hand, insists that Ter Stegen is 100% committed to Barca and will stay at Camp Nou beyond this summer.

Probability rating: 9/10 - to stay

Everton and Arsenal are said to be interested in the Brazilian who is expected to quit Barca this summer, according to Sky Sports.

As per AS, Coutinho could also move back to Liverpool for free in the following months as the Blaugrana are still owing €50m to the Reds for the midfielder's move in 2018.

Probability rating: 3/10 - to leave

Juve have re-appointed Massimiliano Allegri at the helm of the club last week and the Italian wants to bring the out-of-favour Barca midfielder back to Turin, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Barca would arguably be open to the Bosnian's exit if Juve come calling, especially if Ronald Koeman stays beyond the summer.

Probability rating: 6/10 - to leave

Roberto is expected to leave Camp Nou at the end of the season with Barca to bet on Sergino Dest and Emerson, according to Goal.

If Emerson indeed joins the Catalans, it would be no surprise if Roberto gets sold, considering his below-par performances this term.

Probability rating: 7/10 - to leave

The 32-year-old has attracted the attention of Bayern Munich, according to Diario AS.

Let's be honest from the start - there's no way Busquets joins Bayern ever.

Probability rating: 1/10 - to leave

Sergino Dest

Bayern Munich, Juventus and Arsenal are all interested in signing Sergino Dest, according to Diario Sport.

The American, however, only wants to continue at Camp Nou and has no plans of leaving the Catalans anytime soon.

Probability rating: 1/10 - to leave

The 32-year-old's future at Barca has been put in doubt with Atletico Madrid interested in his services, according to AS.

Alba has been one of the Blaugrana's best defenders in the 2020/21 season so Barca unlikely to let him join their La Liga rivals, especially after Luis Suarez's move to Madrid last year.

Probability rating: 2/10 - to leave
