'Bravo KNOWS Messi is going to do that and he still copped it': Fans react as Leo takes revenge on Chile keeper

Lionel Messi's stunning free-kick goal earned Argentina a 1-1 draw against Chile in their 2021 Copa America opener on Monday night.

That was the sides' second head-to-head meeting in two weeks as they also shared points in a 1-1 stalemate in the 2022 World Cup qualifier on June 4.

Messi scored from the spot back then but Claudio Bravo saved Leo's two perfect attempts on that night in Argentina, including a one from a free-kick.

Many fans on social media are convinced that Messi was eager to gain revenge on his former Barcelona teammate this time around.

andres57 via Reddit: "Messi getting revenge of the last Bravo saves in the last match between both."

benelchuncho via Reddit: "The 3rd free-kick he’s had from that range in the last two games, he was bound to score one eventually. It’s Messi after all."

lowrider88 via Reddit: "Far out Bravo KNOWS Messi is going to do that and he still copped it."

Last_Lorien via Reddit: "It was a matter of principle at this point with Bravo lol."

Lionel Messi's beautiful free-kick goal helped Argentina to draw Chile 1-1 in their 2021 Copa America opener on Monday night.

As Twitter user @GetsMessi pointed out, Leo took advantage of Arturo Vidal's height when sending the ball into the right top corner in the 33rd minute, just over his former Barcelona teammate.

"Vidal the midget in the middle of the wall. What kind of idiocy is this. And look who Messi went over the top of in the wall - Vidal the Halloween Garden Gnome. Coaches are clowns," he tweeted.
