'Look at him, he's about to cry because his striker is Morata': Fans react as Alba takes home Star of the Match award

Spain are yet to win a single Euro 2020 game.

On Saturday, Luis Enrique's side recorded their second straight draw, failing to find the winner against Poland.

Jordi Alba won the Star of the Match prize after a truly dominant individual performance. Just take a look at these numbers (and especially at the heat map!).

  • 123 touches
  • 1 big chance created
  • 3/3 ground duels won
  • 3 clearances
  • 2 interceptions
  • 1 tackle
  • 0 times dribbled past

Here's how Barca fans and neutrals assess Alba's outing and the whole Spain situation.

" Why is he about to cry? " – "Morata tax."

"Jordi Alba couldn’t have done any more to push this Spain side to victory… he’s been sensational & created several chances for his forwards, in both games."

"I was wrong about Spain, they have a good shape and play well but they really are missing a star or a good creator. All creativity comes from Alba."

"Were you all seriously mocking Jordi Alba for being Spain captain?"

Spain now need to win their remaining group stage game against Slovakia to advance to the Euro last 16.

Heartwarming scenes as whole Spain squad welcomes Sergio Busquets back after Covid absence

Sergio Busquets has already re-joined the Spain squad at their training camp after testing negative for Covid-19 earlier this week.

The whole La Roja squad, including head coach Luis Enrique and his backroom staff, gave a warm welcome back to the Barcelona midfielder on Friday morning, as can be seen in the video posted by the Spanish FA on Twitter.

The 32-year-old will not be involved in Spain's Euro 2020 clash with Poland on Saturday but he could be available for the final group-stage encounter with Slovakia on Wednesday.

Official: Sergio Busquets tests negative for Covid, to join Spain squad on Friday

Sergio Busquets has tested negative for Covid-19 and will re-join the Spain squad later on Friday, the Spanish FA have just confirmed.

The Barcelona midfielder tested positive for coronavirus two weeks ago and has been self-isolating at his home in Barcelona since then.

Even though the 32-year-old will travel with Luis Enrique's men to Seville for La Furia Roja's second Euro 2020 game against Poland, he's unlikely to feature on Saturday.

Without their captain, Spain drew Sweden 0-0 on Monday.
