On Tuesday, July 13, there was a bomb threat at the Fisherton airport in Rosario, Argentina, as per Doble Amarilla. Leo Messi's plane was scheduled to take off from the airport as the 34-year-old was set to leave on vacation.
In line with the appropriate protocol, the air terminal was evacuated, the same source adds.
For now, there have been no reports on whether the bomb had been localized or the call had been a fake one.
Following his win at the 2021 Copa America, Messi is expected to go on a break. Afterwards, Leo will supposedly sign a new contract with Barcelona and join the pre-season.
UPDATE: TyCSports report that the threat was resolved and operations returned to normal about an hour later. Messi planned to return to Spain with his family but will stay in Rosario for now.
