Tebas confirms La Liga-CVC deal — Barca, Madrid & 2 others left out

La Liga president Javier Tebas has confirmed in a press conference that the deal between the league and investment fund CVC has been approved.

Out of the 42 clubs that took part in the voting, 38 voted in favour and just four opposed it. Those who voted against the deal were Barcelona, Real Madrid, Athletic Bilbao and Real Oviedo.

These four clubs, as a result, will not receive any money from CVC and will keep their broadcasting rights. The deal will now be worth €2.1 billion and not €2.7 billion.

"Real Madrid and Barca put forward many financial arguments against the CVC deal but it was because of the Super League. They are not interested in La Liga improving, their stadiums, the development of all the clubs," Tebas said, as quoted by The Athletic's Dermot Corrigan.
