Although the 2021/22 La Liga is only starting, the race for this season's Golden Boot has been in place for quite a while. Here's how things stand at the moment.

If we are talking about players which are of specific interest to the Barcelona fans, Martin Braithwaite is our only horse in the race at the moment.
The Dane has scored two goals against Real Sociedad, meaning that he currently has four points.
Our other forwards are yet to open their accounts. Sergi Roberto and Gerard Pique, who both scored against La Real, aren't real candidates if we are being honest.
As for the competitors from the big leagues, Bruno Fernandes has accumulated six points after netting a hat-trick against Leeds United. Erling Haaland and Karim Benzema both recorded braces in their first match of the season and sit with four points, tied with Braithwaite.
Robert Lewandowski, the winner from the previous year, has scored one goal so far.
As for Leo Messi, he joined training at Paris Saint-Germain quite late and is yet to play his first game of the season. With Ligue 1 having started two weeks ago, he will have fewer games to score in.
