Revealed: Where La Liga stands among world's highest spending leagues this summer

The Spanish La Liga has been the fifth highest-spending league this summer in the world with all its 20 clubs splashing €152.3m combined on incoming transfers so far, according to Transfermarkt.

The French Ligue 1, meanwhile, sits in fourth with €301.9m combined spendings.

No wonder, it's the Premier League, Serie A and Bundesliga who are leading the pack at €1.02bn, €446.6m and €340.3m respectively.

It should be mentioned that the German top flight is third on the list despite only consisting of 18 clubs instead of 20.

What's curious is that the Italian Serie B has made the list in 10th at €50m ahead of the Dutch Eredivisie.

As a reminder, Barcelona have signed Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia, Emerson Royal and Memphis Depay this summer, only spending €9m on the Brazilian right-back's move from Betis.
