Austria boss Foda: 'We thought Barcelona would loan Demir out or keep him at Barca B'

"Yusuf Demir has surprised us all. We didn't expect him to be a first-team player at Barca so fast. We thought he'd be loaned out and play for Barca B," Austria head coach Franco Foda has told the media, as per Mundo Deportivo.

"But Demir has always been a special player in lower categories. Today he is considered the most promising player in Austrian soccer," he added.

Yusuf Demir has been registered as a first-team Barca player. Besides, the promising forward has even got the no. 11.

As a reminder, the player is on loan from Rapid Wien. Barca reportedly plan to buy him out for €10.5m next summer.

Despite being just 18, Demir already made his Austria debut on March 28 against the Faroe Islands.
