'Messi’s a Barcelona player': Sir Alex Ferguson's prediction Messi could struggle outside Barca resurfaces

Back in 2015, former Manchester United iconic manager Sir Alex Ferguson passed his verdict, on who would succeed outside their current clubs between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“People say who is the best player in the world? And plenty of people quite rightly say Messi - you can’t dispute that opinion,” Ferguson said in his chat with snooker legend John Parrott.

“But Ronaldo could play for Millwall, Queens Park Rangers, Doncaster Rovers, anyone, and score a hat-trick in a game, Ferguson continued.

“I’m not sure Messi could do it.

“Ronaldo’s got two feet, he’s quick, great in the air, he’s brave - Messi’s brave, of course.

“I think Messi’s a Barcelona player,” Fergie said.

The Septuagenarian said this while Messi and Ronaldo still rivalled each other at Barca and Real Madrid respectively.

Ferguson's words only resurfaced after Messi failed to score in his first three games for PSG.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has hit the ground running after his move to Manchester United on transfer deadline day. The Portuguese legend already has 4 goals to his name in as many outings as Messi for PSG.
