What 2021 Barca XI could look like if not for Bartomeu’s weird transfer policy

Have you ever imagined a Barca world without Josep Maria Bartomeu and the things he did?

We did it. Expectedly, it looks much better than the one Joan Laporta has to rebuild for years to come.

Let's take a look at Barca's possible eleven without some unreasonable outgoing transfers that had taken place along the way.

Let us explain some of these choices.

Dani Alves: over the past few years, the legendary Brazilian has been proving that he's never too old to play high-quality football. Besides, the 38-year-old has confirmed that he would love to stay at Barca for a much longer time than he did.

Jean-Clair Todibo: for some reason, both the Bartomeu and the Laporta boards considered the Frenchman unnecessary for Barca; these days, Todibo is a star performer for Nice and would've possibly been the best option to start alongside Ronald Araujo.

Alex Grimaldo: the super talent left Barca for pennies in 2016, becoming one of the world's best left-backs outside the European top-5 leagues. With Jordi Alba sometimes struggling defensively, Grimaldo would've been a stunning boost for Barca in this respect.

Marc Cucurella: displayed his real levels Getafe and has left Spain for the Premier League football, immediately securing a starting XI spot at Brighton. The 23-year-old is more of a wide midfielder these days but he's faster and younger than Alba.

Arturo Vidal: the Chilean was among the key players in Antonio Conte's Inter Milan side and could've played the role of a solid ball-winning midfielder while Sergio Busquets would've been rested. Sadly, Barca let him go for nothing while Busi continues to be our regular starter.

Leo Messi: if not for some weird hefty signings, registering Messi's new contract wouldn't be a problem for Joan Laporta in 2021, which is why Leo is here in the squad.

Luis Suarez: it's both Bartomeu's and Koeman's fault that El Pistolero isn't here with us. The Uruguayan striker could've given us 2-3 years of quality football – and he perfectly proves it at Atletico Madrid.

What changes would you make to this starting eleven?
