Club assembly approves Espai Barca plan including Camp Nou re-development: what it means for Barcelona

 club assembly held earlier on Saturday has approved Joan Laporta's Espai Barca project.

The project involves a re-development of Camp Nou, with the stadium going up to a 105,000 capacity.

The ageing stadium will be modernised. A roof, new security facilities, a big 360º screen, new parking areas will be built.

Camp Nou will be closed from 2022 until the end of 2025.

A new Palau Blaugrana—stadium for Barcelona's basketball, handball, roller hockey and futsal teams—will be built.

Laporta's funding plan involves an estimated €1.5 billion investment, with €900m going into the re-development of Camp Nou.

The project now must be ratified in a referendum with all club members casting a vote.

Some of the innovations include the construction of a roof with solar panels on top, new offices and a multi-purpose Palau Blaugrana for the basketball, futsal and other Barca teams and more. 

As per a recent report from the reliable Victor Nahe, the Espai Barca project that includes all the said renovations will cost a total of €1.320m, with €900m for the Camp Nou and €420m for the remaining facilities. 

The constructions dates are as follows: Camp Nou 2021(or 2022)-2025, Palau 2024-26, Campus 2025-27.

people won't understand the importance of this for the long term, investing 1.5billion into barca as an organisation is better than using it to field 11 players who may or may not turn out as planned, because of koeman people dont know that already have a good 11, dembele, aguero, Memphis, fati, .....midfield, Pedri coutinho, puig, gavi, dejong, even when busquests retires we'll be okay, defenders, Garcia, lenglet, umtiti, araujo, alba, balde, dest, mingueza, believed it or not, our squad is better than Chelsea squad without a doubt and only have clubs like mancity or PSG better than it, its just that our coach is useless, bartomeu used 1 billion to field players too(look what it did to us), out of them, only dejong is starting for us, u want larporta to do thesame? Chelsea beat norwhich 7-0 today with a squad not better than ours and 2 strikers gone, while koeman only knows excuses and zero tactical sense or else u will see barca beauty too, still forca barca and I loom forward to prosperity and a good stadium (after koeman)

From what i read the funding will be from investors so Barca dont really have to pay for it right away. Exactly how the funding will be done is not completed yet.
