In the press conference ahead of the match against Espanyol, his coaching debut for Barcelona, Xavi was asked whether he will bet on the youngsters in the match since there are many injuries.
"We'll see what we will do about the injured ones. I have not decided on eleven. I really value the training, how are the players. I have a good impression of the youngsters, not only those who were already there but also those from the younger teams," Xavi has said, as quoted by Diario Sport.
"We do not have Martin Braithwaite, Sergio Aguero or Ousmane Dembele, and we have to call up the youngsters. They are ready, we have seen them at Barcelona B and there may be some surprises, but we will decide tonight."
As previously reported, the only attackers Xavi will have available for the Espanyol clash are Memphis Depay, Luuk de Jong and Yusuf Demir.
The likes of Ferran Jutgla and Abde Ezzalzouli have been training with the first team recently and could be called up for the game.
