Option 1

Ter Stegen; Araujo, Pique, Garcia; Dest, Busquets, De Jong, Alba; Demir, Memphis, Gavi.

Villarreal carry a big offensive threat, having scored 15 goals in La Liga so far (only 8 teams have got more) and possessing a great weapon in Arnau Danjuma who has 7 goals in 16 apps for Unai Emery's side this term.

This is why we should probably stick with a three-at-the-back formation. The only two changes we would make are Sergino Dest for Nico Gonzalez (the former seems finally fit, the latter should rest a bit) and Eric Garcia for Clement Lenglet (the Frenchman was too error-prone last time out).

Option 2

Ter Stegen; Araujo, Pique, Garcia; Dest, Busquets, De Jong, Alba; Dembele, Memphis, Coutinho.

Should Gavi be given rest too?

Philippe Coutinho could start alongside Ousmane Dembele if the Frenchman is match fit.

Other than that, it's the same option 1, with Eric Garcia and Sergino Dest starting a game after a while.

Option 3

Ter Stegen; Dest, Araujo, Pique, Alba; Nico, Busquets, De Jong; Ilias/Abde, Memphis, Gavi.

Oh wait, we also have two star youngsters who could feature on Saturday!

Both Ilias Akhomach and Abde Ezzalzouli have made the squad for the Villarreal game and we may expect one of them to start tomorrow.

Barca, meanwhile, could switch to a four-at-the-back formation and start Nico in the midfield. Quite a good balance of our defensive and attacking abilities.
