Messi set to miss his 12th PSG game out of 28: here's why

Lionel Messi is ruled out of the Ligue 1 game against Brest on January 15, reliable sources confirm.

This will be the 12th missed game with the Parisians for the Argentine.

Despite testing negative for the coronavirus, Messi continues his individual recovery from the disease. He is expected to be available for the league game against Reims on January 23.

His commitment shouldn't be questioned, though: according to ESPN, the 34-year-old has rejected the Argentina call-up to properly prepare for the next fixtures with PSG, including the Champions League encounters against Real Madrid.

Messi has missed his 12 fixtures with the French side for various reasons: coronavirus, bone bruise, knee problems and a lack of fitness.
