Xavi confirms he defied doctors orders playing Fati against Bilbao, explains why

Speaking during his press conference for the Alaves game, Xavi confirmed he had played Ansu Fati longer than recommended by Dr. Ricard Pruna.

"Ansu is upset," Xavi said.

"On Monday, there will be another meeting and we will decide, but we have spoken with his family, it is a relapse.

"Dr Pruna said that it is best if he played 30-35 minutes, but he played more due to extra time, Fati said he was okay to continue.”

Fati picked up a hamstring injury in extra time during the game and risks missing up to 3 months of action. He could even be ruled out for the season.
