Barcelona and Real Madrid reach transfer 'non-aggression pact'

Marca report that Joan Laporta and Florentino Perez, presidents of Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, have 'sealed a non-aggression pact'.

The presidents have agreed they won't try to poach players from either side who are still under contract. The agreement extends to youth teams.

It was previously reported that Madrid considered landing Barca defender Ronald Araujo on free agency in 2023.

Earlier, the Whites snapped up former Catalans youth team captain Jaume Jardi; he plays for Madrid's Castilla side now.

The new transfer 'pact' means that these deals are now impossible. Barca and Madrid would be allowed to negotiate with each other's players only when they have entered the final six months of their deals.

Marca stress that the agreement does not extend to players of other teams. Barca and Madrid are still competing for Haaland. Both sides also hold a strong interest in the 15-year-old Brazilian sensation Endrick.
