'I expressed my point of view': Dani Alves confirms he spoke to Barca about Antony

"People say you pressured Barcelona to sign Antony?" Diario Sport reporter has asked Dani Alves.

"I didn't put any pressure on anyone, but I have spoken about him, yes. If they ask me about players, I speak from my point of view," the Brazilian replied.

"When Antony played for Sao Paulo, the fans criticised him a lot. I said, my God! What are they doing... He was the best player at Sao Paulo. And then he signed for Ajax where he has shown how great he is and how great he can become. People in Brazil were surprised, but for me it was not a surprise.

"Raphinha? He is a great player, just like Antony. There are many interesting players for Barca on the market," the Barca veteran concluded.

Antony made 33 appearances alongside Dani Alves at Sao Paulo. The two players also played for Brazil's national team at the 2021 Olympics.

While Barcelona remain linked to the Ajax winger, Leeds United's Raphinha is said to be their priority target.
