Koeman: 'People who know the situation think I did a good job at Barca'

"It always hurts when you can't finish what you started. Like in my case, I think that people who know about football, about the club, who know about Barcelona's economic situation, believe that for them I have done a good job," Ronald Koeman has said, as quoted by Diario Sport.

"I don't mean a great job, nor a bad job. I think it was a good job in a very complicated situation for Barca.

"And it is still proving to be a very complicated situation. I hope Barca can return to the way it was before.

"As coach, I have done everything for the club and have accepted things from the club to improve its economic situation, to have economic stability. I accepted things from the club for the club, like letting Antoine Griezmann leave for Atletico Madrid.

"I've never thought about myself, I've always done things for Barca. In the end, in the world, you have people for and against you."

Koeman spent almost a year and a half at Camp Nou as coach. In the first season, the Catalans won the Copa del Rey but performed badly in the other competitions. At the time of his departure, Barca were sitting 9th in the league.
