Luis Enrique labels Gavi an 'unknown player' - he explains what he means

Gavi played like a man from another planet in Spain's 1-1 draw against Portugal on Thursday.

The Barca teenager registered more touches than anyone else on the pitch (73). He also delivered the pre-assist for Spain's only goal of the game.

After the game, Spain gaffer Luis Enrique labelled Gavi 'an unknown player. Here's what he meant:

"Gavi is an unknown player. Why? Because people watch Barca and say: 'oh look at him! He's so brave, how he fights, how he runs!' True? Yes. Without the ball. But with the ball, he's unknown. I can say that loud and clear."

Unkown in this case means a player whose talent and ability have not fully been tapped.

Gavi also registered two key passes in the game before being withdrawn in the 81st minute. Just after that Spain conceded the equalizer.
