Barcelona 'consider giving letter of freedom' to 2 first-team players

Barcelona 'consider giving letter of freedom' to Samuel Umtiti and Neto, reports Diario Sport.

This means Barca are prepared to part ways with the two players, covering their wages for the remaining years on their contracts – basically 'sacking' them with a compensation fee.

Neto's current deal runs until July 2023. He is not among Blaugrana's top earners, so it would be feasible to offload him; besides, he has an offer from Lazio on the table – they want to land him for free.

Things are tougher with Umtiti whose contract only expires in 2026. However, one shouldn't forget that the Frenchman took a pay cut that helped register Ferran Torres in January.
