Police find 'incriminating evidence' against Bartomeu in BarcaGate scandal

The police in Spain have discovered incriminating evidence against Josep Maria Bartomeu in relation to the BarcaGate scandal, according to Adria Soldevila of Goal.

The evidence shows that Bartomeu and his board paid a media company, Nicestream, to create accounts on social media to protect their image while defaming people within Barcelona who opposed them - such as Pique, Messi and Guardiola.

Bartomeu has often pleaded his innocence over the charges and was granted bail after being arrested last year.

However, the new evidence may see the ex-Barca president return to trial and possibly be sentenced.

Bartomeu's poor administration of the club's finances ultimately led to the shock departure of Messi last August.
