'Still a high-level player': Rennes boss provides big hint at Umtiti future

"Umtiti is a player I know very well. You know his story but he is still a high-level player and we are interested in those at a high level," Rennes head coach Bruno Genesio has told the media, as per Diario Sport.

Earlier, it was reported by credible sources that the Ligue 1 side would like to land Umtiti this summer.

The question is whether the player would consider this to be a suitable destination for him. It was said that the centre-back would want to play in the Champions League next season – Rennes will be in the Europa League group stage.

Umtiti's Barca deal runs until 2026. The Catalans reportedly could terminate his contract in 2023.
