Ansu Fati's friend, former Madridista: Barcelona recommended to sign transfer-listed left-back

Why focus on Marcos Alonso when there are better alternatives in the transfer market?

Tottenham Hotspur have left Sergio Reguilon out of their pre-season squad list. Antonio Conte wants him to find himself a new club as soon as possible, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Interestingly, the former Real Madrid player was linked to Barcelona in March, but the Catalans ruled out his signing back then.

"I was typing out Barça should get Reguilon, and then I remembered he's straight up from La Fabrica [Real Madrid's academy], doubt either one is itching for a move like that (but would be great for Alba to have competition)," Colombia fan and Reddit user abottomful writes.

Well, Marcos Alonso, who is Barca's priority left-back target, also spent many years at Real Madrid's academy before signing for Bolton in 2010.

By the way, Reguilon seemingly has a special bond with Ansu Fati. The two players often talk to each other during Spain's training sessions and sometimes spend the time together off the pitch.

This story makes things more interesting as Reguilon and Fati may both play on the left wing at Barca.

Reguilon's estimated value is €25m, so he probably wouldn't cost Barca a lot now that he's transfer listed.

Last season, the 25-year-old registered 5 goal contributions in 31 matches for Spurs.
