Barcelona have signed two players so far this summer, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen.
The fans were obviously excited to see them in action in the first pre-season friendly against Olot. However, only Kessie was called up for the game, leaving the fans confused.
Blaugrana fan BarcaFOREVER asks: "Christensen also not there, but Kessie is there? Is this a registration problem? And is it unique to Chris alone?"
So, to begin with, it is not a registration problem. To play in friendlies, the club doesn't need to register the new signings. They will need to register them only when the official competitions start.
The actual reason why Christensen was omitted, most likely, is that he started training only this Monday. He was on international duty in June and, like the other internationals, reported back later.
In fact, none of the internationals were called up, so it's not a problem unique to him. They still lack fitness.
Kessie, on the other hand, has been working together with the squad for almost a week now, so he should be ready to play.
