Definitely good news. Initially I was against Lewandowski's signing, but it's a smart move, because he likely has 2-3 good seasons left and will bring in alot of revenue from shirt sales and sponsorship deals. Kounde is just good business all around, young player and quality CB. Let's see if Laporte will make it happen.

same with me brother, I was not totally in support of the idea of signing Lewandowski, he seems to me to be more like a goal scorer than a team player just like Ronaldo, but it's all good, I wish he helps us get trophies if he finally signs.

I agree, definitely a strange player to sign, as I don't see his style fitting in with Xavi's philosophy, but if he can take the 50 goals he scored for bayern and do that here, you won't see me complaining. Plus financially, we'll make 3x the 50mil transfer fee in sponsorships and jersey sales alone.

I agree, very unprofessional attitude. Trying to extort a club thats stuck by him through 5 years of relentless injuries during a time of financial crisis is disgusting. Had he not wanted the pay cut, I would've understood, because truthfully the previous boards irresponsible actions are not his problem. But demanding a pay raise to 40 mil per season and a signing bonus? Dembele should've been forced to play 90 minutes every game for his last six months than denied an extension offer. If God exists, he would've let him get injured for a year following his contract expiry, leaving him out of a club, paying his own medical bills, and having his career forever ruined.

You sounded pathetic loser. 
Grudges is still eating you up for a player that did nothing wrong than to look out for himself.

The only positive take away from this situation is that Dembele's ego was definitely kicked down a notch and ended up accepting Barca's offer since it was the only offer on the table. Still feel like he should've been told the offer expired once February 1st rolled around, but that's not the reality unfortunately. Let's just hope he plays well and contributes to our success.

You still believe that no team wants him, why are people so senseless in reasoning?  You also said that he is not even half a player Fati is. Has Fati ever played more than 2 90mins matches since he was introduced at 16? Stop acting like a fool. just a piece of advice.

My problem isn't the fact that he didn't want a pay cut, I'll accept that because the previous board's irresponsiblities are not his problem. My issue is that after 5 years at Barca, spending 4 of them injured and little to no growth, he feels entitled to 40mil per season plus a signing bonus. You are out of your mind if you think he's worth anywhere near that. Raphina flopping is a possibility, just like there exists a possibility that he will develop into a club legend. Raphina and Dembele's stats were not that different last season, so please do your research before making stupid comments.

Fati has given more to the club in a year (yes even with injuries), than Dembele has in 5 years. Fati is 19, Dembele is 25.  Being 6 years younger, Fati has provided more to Barca's offense than Dembele could dream of. Once Fati turns 25, you will see just how much better Fati is because the difference in goal contributions between the two will be astronomical. As of right now, I rate Dembele's time at Barcelona a complete flop, and he didn't deserve to be renewed on that alone. Xavi wanted him? Fair enough, I'll trust his judgment, but I'm glad the board stuck to their offer (which was still much too high for my liking). Also you really think he would've stayed had he had better offers? I can guarantee that any offers he had (if any at all), were well below the 6mil Barca were offering him. I would never bet on a player who spent 4/5 years injured, but that's the difference between us. I use logic and reasoning, you use sentiment and ideals.

Barca should've never extended Dembele, especially since they signed Raphina. We now have 5, 1st team wingers: Dembele, Raphina, Fati, Ferran, and Abde. Abde will likely be forced out on loan, and quite honestly, Dembele's arrogance of thinking he deserved more money after spending 4/5 years injured is an absolute joke. Once he became a free agent I would've changed the offer to half of Fati's salary (since he's half the player fati is), with an injury clause meaning that he does not get paid while injured. He either accepts those terms or goes mooch off another team (oh wait, he can't because no other team wanted him).

Miguel I think the 25 yrs contract of the economic levers makes more sense to me than the 50 yrs cccv slavery that Cebas and his gang of deceitful group dangled to us.

Oh absolutely, 110%, without a doubt. Doesn't mean I have to like the economic levers any better, it was just the lesser of 2 evils. The ccv deal was criminal and I would've hated Laporte for accepting it. The levers are a necessary evil to get out of a deep financial pit the club is in due to previous mismanagement, while trying to remain relevant in the sporting world.

NGL, I didn't expect much from Barcelona these next few transfer windows, but I'm pleasantly surprised so far, especially if we manage to sign Lewandowski, Kounde, Azpeliqueta, and Alonso. I only hope that these gambles pay off, because a season of sporting success would do wonders to bring in some much needed revenue, while a repeat of last season would likely see Laporte going down as one of the most irresponsible presidents of all time (after Bartomeou), seeing as he's spent so much on transfers with a huge debt looming over barca's head. Also, not a fan of the economic  levers, but if they bring us success they're something I, like many Barca Fans, will likely overlook.
