Griezmann scores first league goal in almost 9 months

Barcelona loanee Antoine Griezmann started the league season with a goal against Getafe, helping his team win 3-0.

This wouldn't have been news if it weren't Griezmann's first league goal since November 2021. The Frenchman had really gone almost nine months without scoring in La Liga.

It was also Antoine's only second goal in 2022, as his last striker came against Rayo Majadahonda in January in Copa del Rey.

Atletico Madrid signing Griezmann on a permanent deal will depend on playing a certain amount of games. The Frenchman has to play a certain amount of games for the option to be triggered, and without goals, he's unlikely to get those minutes.
