Barcelona are set to sign promising left-back Roman Vega from Argentinos Juniors, Relevo's credible Albert Roger and Toni Juanamrti report.
The 18-year-old would join the club on loan with an option to buy. He would be assigned to Barca Atletic. The deal is expected to be completed this week.
Albert Roge also adds that Vega's departure is a clear indication that Alex Balde's time with Barca Atletic is over. With Marcos Alonso expected to arrive soon, the La Masia left-back will most likely be loaned out to a top-flight club.
Balde showed some promising signs during pre-season. However, it still wasn't enough for Xavi to start him ahead of Jordi Alba against Rayo Vallecano. The veteran left-back went on to disappoint some of the board members with his performance that night.
