"I haven't seen him [Bellerin] play much, but I'll say one thing: it would be difficult for me to sign a player we'd already had," Xavi told Diario Sport in 2017, via the Mirror.
"Yes, it can turn out good, bad or average. But I'm not in favour of re-signing players who have left. Why do they leave at 16 or 17? It seems ridiculous to me. I don't understand it.
"I understand if you want to go, it's for a reason. Like [Jon] Toral [ex-La Masia talent], he left because his mum's English. Ok, but it is what it is. The ship’s sailed," Xavi concluded.
Hector Bellerin was linked to the Barcelona comeback multiple times in the past. Ironically, he's coming back exactly at a time when Xavi is Barca's head coach.
In 2015, Bellerin explained that he left La Masia because he 'felt really wanted' by Arsenal at the time.
