After 7 matches into the league season so far, 

The Catalans have recorded 6 wins and one draw, scoring 19 goals and conceding just one under coach 

Things are obviously going much better than last year under 

After 7 matches last term, Barca had just 12 points, having won three games, drawn three and lost one. They scored 11 goals and conceded 7.

Three weeks later, the Dutch coach was sacked.

I saw Koeman's quality as a coach when he was left without Messi.

there was nothing good to write home about as far as barca under koeman. a coach that's worth his onions should do d right thing. if I've not forgotten, when koeman came, d first thing he did was just to do away with some players and almost trying to turn d locker room to durch locker room. he would support anything dutch whether or not it will benefit us. I remember how he discarded Suarez. very unprofessional. telling Barca to go after Wjinaldum when we had d opportunity to bring in Thiago Alcantara. tell me, which normal coach would let a striker like Suarez as at then, go, and be chasing after some mushroom players? Suarez single handedly won d league for athletico that season. 
I disagree with u 100 percent. koeman was a total error. nothing good to write about him.

Don’t mind the guy cus I see he was watching only matches not what is happening at the backroom. There’s nothing to blame Koeman for because the team was financially down and a depleted team, he tried using the youngster and what do we expect when Messi, griezman , rakiti and Suarez left.  I see some people saying he was the one who let Suarez go but he’s not ..Xavi either won win anything with that Koeman squad that’s the bitter truth

If not for Koeman, do you think that Xavi will just come and is doing well?
All the youngsters in Barca were his brought ups. And we are shinning with them. Look at Araujo, Pedri, Gavi and many more. He is the reason we got €16m from Moriba. He laid the foundation and got no support from the fans and the board members. not even from the president, no player for him and he dwell on kids. did well with all the injuries.
You are an ungrateful folk and till now you haven't learned anything, which shows you are so pathetic.

Was Xavi doing great when he came, despite all we gave him in January, he won nothing, even the Europa we were favourite at, but Koeman won the Copa with a mediocre team full of young kids and injured veterans.

@Simon, while I agree that a comparison between this team and the team Koeman had last season may be unfair, I think a comparison with the team he had at the start of the 2020/2021 season would be appropriate, and even with that team, I still think Koeman would come short.

My major disagreement however would be the claim that Rijkaard laid a good foundation for Pep's success. At best, Rijkaard was Pep's predecessor. 
Pep took over a team that finished the season third, 10 points behind Villarreal and 18 points behind Madrid. Pep literally built a different squad, selling Ronnie, Deco, Edmilson, Zambrotta and Co. while bringing in Pique, Alves, Busquets, Keita and Co.

An example of laying foundation for someone would be Lampard and Tuchel.

Let's stop the misinformation. 

Yes, he was Pep's predecessor, but he didn't lay any foundation.

It more of a mere difference in perception. 

Let’s even assume that Rijkaard didn’t do anything to influence Peps success. 

He gave Messi his debut and There was Thierry Henry, Deco, Abidal, Yaya Toure Ronaldinho, Rafa Marquez, Carles Puyol and Victor Valdes. Not forgetting Eto.  


So tell me that these players didn’t play a role in laying the foundation for Guadiola’s 
Success.

@Simon, well, maybe "misinformation" was too harsh, maybe. Let me rephrase, let's stop that narrative.

Going by your logic, it would be correct to say that all predecessors lay the foundation for their successor's eventual success. Because quite frankly, somebody has to give somebody his debut. Somebody has to make some signings. No coach goes to a job with his set of 25 players.

Also, it would be nice to mention the coach in Brazil who gave Ronaldinho his debut too, as part of those who laid the foundation for Rijkaard's success. Hahahaha...that's true technically. But football-wise, it's a fallacy.

We’re obviously doing better. 

But you can’t just compare out league positions only. Barca has a better and stronger team now also.  

A lot of things have changed within the club as well compared to this time last season.  

Koeman wasn’t the best of coaches.  But the man did help us in a lot of ways.  

Just as Rijkaard laid a good foundation for Guadiola’s success, Koeman despite all his flaws, also laid a good foundation for Xavi’s success.  

Xavi has a better and stronger squad now than what Koeman had then.  After loosing Messi and Grizman.  

Let’s appreciate everyone for the contributions they’ve made towards bringing our beloved club back to her best.
