De Jong starts for Netherlands v Ecuador, Memphis benched

Frenkie de Jong has been confirmed to start for the Netherlands' World Cup round two encounter vs Ecuador.

The other Barcelona player, Memphis Depay, remains on the bench. Louis Van Gaal confirmed the striker is not yet fully recovered, but will get some minutes today.

The Netherlands XI: Noppert; Timber, Van Dijk, Ake, Dumfries, Blind; Koopmeiners, De Jong; Klaasen, Gakpo, Bergwijn.

The Dutch play in group A with Qatar, Ecuador and Senegal.
